Cobi Sky Positioning Mattress

5. Application
Push the filling around
Cobi Sky Positioning Mattress meets the
challenges of pressure sores without
compromising stability.
This is partly due to the construction of the
mattress with channels that can be pushed
around. In this way, the mattress can be shaped
exactly to the needs of the user.
The mattress is used for positioning the user when
the greatest possible support of the body is
required.
The positioning mattress simultaneously provides
tactile and proprioceptive stimuli when the filling
is pushed to and around the user, as shown in the
illustration.
If there are places on the body where there is a
need for total pressure relief, the mattress can be
modified by modulating the filling around, so that
there is no longer contact between the mattress
and the specific area on the user’s body.
Hollow positioning
In case of existing bedsores, a hole can be made
for relief by pushing the beads filling around.
Make a hole with your hand below the point
where the pressure is to be relieved.
The hole can subsequently be smoothed out
again when there is no longer a need for relief of,
for example, the heel.
Micro positioning
Small adjustments of the mattress are made
continuously, for instance, for micro positioning.
This is done, among other things, to create small
pressure-distributing changes in the mattress
without the user having to be actively involved,
for example, during night inspections, where the
user’s sleep should not be disturbed.
This is also done if the user cannot handle
significant turns or lifting and moving in the bed.
Stretch the grey cover before placing the user
on the mattress. It reduces the risk of pressure
sores and facilitates the best deep positioning
down into the mattress filling.
Remember to push the filling “in place” daily
before use. This ensures the correct support.
