Operation
Check before starting the device!
Check to make sure the device is in a safe operating
condition:
– Check to make sure there are no visible defects.
– Check to make sure all device components are
correctly mounted.
Sharpening drills

– Completely lower the grinding stone by rotating
the switch (1) anti-clockwise as far as it will go
– Insert the drill into the appropriate holder (2). The
appropriate sizes can be read off on the cover.
– Turn the drill clockwise until it engages.
– To switch the device on, set the On-Off
switch (3) to [I] .
– Rotate the switch (1) in a clockwise direction
until you can hear the sound of grinding.
– Lift the drill and rotate by 180° and reintroduce to
the grinding stone.
– Repeat the process until both cutting edges are
sharp.
– To switch the unit off, set the on/off switch to
the [0] position.

– To ensure that the drill is centred, both cutting
edges (b) must have the same angle to the drill
axis (a) and be of the same length.
– Sharpen in such a way that the angle between
the cutting edge and the traverse edge of an
ordinary drill is 118°.
Changing the grinding stone

– Loosen the screws of the grinding stone
cover (4), and remove the cover (5).
– Remove the grinding stone holder (7) and grind-
ing stone (6).

– Undo the nut (8) and remove (anti-clockwise).
– Lift the grinding stone (6) with washer (9) from
the mount (7).
– Plate a new grinding stone (6) with the flat side
up against the mount (7) and fit the washer (9).
– Tighten the nut (8) (clockwise).

– Place the grinding stone holder accurately on
the spring (10).
– Screw the cover on tight.

Before each use
Storage, transportation
DANGER! Risk of injury! The device may
only be put into operation if there are no
defects. If a part is defective, it must be
replaced before the device is used again.
NOTICE! Risk of damage to the unit!
Use the rotating switch to set the position
of the grinding stone. The further you rotate
the switch in an anti-clockwise direction,
the higher the contact pressure. Do not
rotate the switch too far, otherwise the
grinding stone will damage the housing.
NOTICE! Risk of damage to the unit!
Permit the motor to run for a maximum of
three minutes and then cool down for 7
minutes.
Note: Pre-treat heavily damaged drills by
coarsely grinding on a block first.
DANGER! Risk of injury! Pull the plug
before changing the grinding stone.
Note: Change the grinding stone if it is
worn or damaged (e.g. irregular grinding
performance or a broken stone).
DANGER! Risk of injury! Prior to conduct-
ing maintenance or cleaning:
– Switch the device off
– Allow the unit to cool down
– Unplug from the power source.

Check the power cable
and plug for damage. Conduct a visual inspec-
tion and have the cable
replaced by an electrician
if necessary.

Cleaning the device Wipe the unit with a damp
cloth. Remove grinding
residue with a dry brush.
WARNING! Risk of injury! Store the unit in
such a way that it cannot be started by
unauthorised persons.
NOTICE! Risk of damage to the unit! Do
not stored unprotected in a damp environ-
ment.
