12. Remove the screws securing the shifter cable bracket assembly to the transaxle (Figure 17-9, Page 17-3) . Do
not remove the cables from the bracket.

13. If the vehicle is equipped with four-wheel drive, disconnect the front differential driveshaft from the transaxle.
13.1. Pry the driveshaft free from the cir-clip on the transaxle output shaft (Figure 17-10, Page 17-4) .
13.2. Remove the bolt and nut securing the driveshaft in the universal joint (Figure 17-11, Page 17-4) .
13.3. Grasp the shaft and push it further into the universal joint to allow more clearance at the transaxle end
(Figure 17-12, Page 17-4) . This may require moving the shaft in and out of the universal joint repeatedly,
forcing the shaft further into joint with each stroke.
13.4. Pull the driveshaft off the transaxle output shaft (Figure 17-13, Page 17-4) .
13.5. Cover splined hole, in driveshaft cv-joint, to keep out debris and let the driveshaft rest on the floor.
