Park Brake System HYDRAULIC AND PARK BRAKE SYSTEMS
4. Slide the cable forward to release the sheath ferrule from the caliper bracket.
5. Move the cable up and toward the rear of the vehicle to remove the cable end from the caliper lever.
6. Squeeze the ferrule tines (8) together on the cable end at the frame bracket (7) and remove the cable from the
vehicle
(Figure 6-12, Page 6-19) .
Right Rear Cable Installation
1. Attach the caliper end of the cable to the brake caliper lever (Figure 6-11, Page 6-19) .
2. Slide the sheath ferrule through the hole in the caliper bracket (Figure 6-11, Page 6-19) . Install a C-clip to
hold the cable ferrule in place.
3. Route the cable up and across the air filter box and secure the P-clamp and cable to the top bolt on the filter
mounting bracket
(Figure 6-13, Page 6-20) .
4. Route the cable end to the outside of the air intake hose.
5. Place the threaded end (6) of the cable in the frame bracket (7) at the outside hole (Figure 6-12, Page 6-19) .
6. Attach cable end to the equalizer (2).
7. Use the nuts on the threaded end (6) to adjust the cable end. Both cables should be equal in length. Tighten the
nuts to 40 ft-lb (54 N·m).
8. Secure the cable to the frame with a nylon wire tie.

Left Rear Cable Installation
1. Attach the caliper end of the cable to the brake caliper lever (Figure 6-11, Page 6-19) .
2. Slide the sheath ferrule through the hole in the caliper bracket (Figure 6-11, Page 6-19) . Install a C-clip to
hold the cable ferrule in place.
3. Route the cable to the inside of the air intake hose.
4. Secure the cable with a P-clamp and nylon wire tie to the frame.
5. Attach cable end to the equalizer (2).
6. Install the cable sheath ferrule (8) into the frame bracket (7) until the ferrule tines snap into place (Figure 6-12,
Page 6-19) .
FRONT PARK BRAKE CABLE REMOVAL – CABLE ONLY SYSTEM
1. Chock the rear wheels and release the park brake.
2. Remove the spring (1) from the threaded adjustment rod (2) at the equalizer (Figure 6-14, Page 6-21) .
