If you have difficulty in pumping or there is “chattering” during pumping you may

need to clean and lubricate your pump. You may also need to replace the O-ring as it

can shrink over time.

Cleaning and lubricating your pump:

Remove the set screw and extract the plunger from the pump body. Clean the inner

surface of the pump body with a cloth or paper towel.

Now you need to lubricate the pump body.

A small tube of lube is provided but in an emergency almost anything will work;

cooking oil, petroleum jelly or even butter. ideally you should use superlube™ a

synthetic grease that outperforms other lubes in various temperatures.

Place a bead of lube about the size of a pencil eraser around the inside of the pump

body then spread it completely around. Re-insert the plunger body and take a couple of

strokes on the plunger.

CAUTION

don't use too much lubricant. it can block spaces created by the tabs and cause the

pump to fail.

Replacing the O-Ring:

A spare O-ring is stored in the bottom of the pump body.

Remove the set screw and then the plunger. invert the pump body and tap it sharply

on a solid surface. The O-ring should fall out. if it doesn't fish it out with a long tool.

Replace the old O-ring with the new ring and reassemble your pump.
