Radio
1. The radio is switched on by turning the [OFF] knob clockwise until it
clicks; it is switched off by turning the knob anticlockwise.
2. Select the desired radio band using the [AM/FM] selector.
The button should be retracted for AM and extended for FM.
3. Set the desired station using the [TUNING] knob.
4. Adjust the volume using the volume control (6).
Dynamo charging
1. Fold out the charging crank (8). Set the selector (9) under the crank

2. Wind the handle at a rate of 1½–2 turns per second. The charging
indicator (4) will come on to confirm that the built-in battery is being
charged. Do not wind the handle too quickly.
Winding the handle for about 2 minutes (approx 120 turns/minute)
corresponds to: Listening to the radio for 10 minutes, using the torch
for 30 minutes, sounding the siren for 4 minutes or flashing the warning
light for 60 minutes. Charging a mobile phone for 2 minutes will provide
around 5 minutes of standby time (with approx 30 seconds talk time).
DC charging
The built-in battery can also be charged using an external electrical
battery charger (sold separately).
1. Set the selector switch (9) to the
IN
position. Plug the DC connector
of the external charger into the “DC 6V” charger cable socket (10).
2. Note: When charging the battery using an external charger you
must ensure that the output voltage is 6 V DC, that the current
is 300 mA and that the DC connector has a centre-positive (+)
polarity. The charging indicator (4) lights when the built-in battery
is being charged. The battery will be fully charged after 3–4 hours.
Disconnect the charger when the battery has been charged.
Charging a mobile phone via the charger cable
(USB Micro-B)
1. Fold out the charging crank (8).
2. Set the selector (9) under the crank to the
OUT
position.
3. Use the included charger cable to connect the device (phone) you
wish to charge to the “DC 6V” socket on the radio (10).
4. Wind the handle 1½–2 turns per second. Do not wind too quickly.
Note:
Some mobile phones have a different type of charging port
than a USB Micro-B.
