Installation
Batteries
IC993 uses 2 R03 batteries. Make sure the
batteries plus (+) and minus (–) sides face
the right direction when inserting the batteries
and replace the battery lid. Follow illustration.
After a long period of use, the light-emitting
diode becomes weak, the sound inferior, and
the volume will decrease. Replace the batte-
ries to regain the maximum effect. Remove
the batteries if you do not intend to use the
Intercom 993 for a long period of time.
Headset
Loudspeakers and microphone are built-in.
No drilling or other installation is required.
Attach the headset in the helmet lining (as
close as possible to the ear) by using the in-
cluded Velcro tape. Adjust the microphone
to the desired setting and connect the cable
to the control box. After this, the Intercom is
ready to use.
Line-in socket
The line-in socket enables the connection of
a portable CD player, cassette recorder, or
radio.
Use
The small adjustment wheel on top is an ON/
OFF switch and a volume control for pas-
sengers. The small side adjustment wheel
is a volume control for the driver. Test the
Intercom after putting on the helmet. Check
the sound quality (adjust the microphone as
needed) and that the volume is at the desi-
red level (adjust with the applicable volume
control).
Caution
When the sound quality is affected by speed
or by strong wind, it is best not to turn the
volume up since the sound is carried to the
Intercom via the microphones. If the sound
becomes more disturbing when you turn up
the volume, we suggest that you instead turn
down the volume.
