Soldering/Wood Burning Kit

Please read the entire instruction manual before using
the product and then save it for future reference. We reserve
the right for any errors in text or images and any necessary

Safety
• The mains lead should be checked regularly. Never use
the soldering iron if the mains lead or plug is damaged.
• The mains lead cannot be replaced. If the mains lead
is damaged, the soldering iron must be disposed of in
accordance with local regulations.
• Do not use the soldering iron on material that melts,
e.g. plastic or synthetic materials.
• This product must not be used by anyone (including
children) suffering from physical or mental impairment.
This product should not be used by anyone that has not read
the instruction manual unless they have been instructed in its
use by someone who will take responsibility for their safety.
• Never let children play with the soldering iron.
Specific safety instructions for wood burning
(pyrography) pens
WARNING – FIRE HAZARD!
If used improperly the wood
burning pen can present a fire hazard. Please take the following
into consideration:
• Be careful when using the tool in the vicinity of combustible
materials.
• Do not hold the tool on the same spot for a long time.
• Never use the tool in an explosive atmosphere.
• Heat can spread and ignite combustible materials which are
not within sight.
• Let the tool cool off completely before putting it away for
storage.
• Never leave the tool unattended while it is plugged in.
Always unplug the tool after use or whenever leaving sight
of it.
• Never expose the wood burning
pen to rain or moisture.
• Fold up the stand and rest
the wood burning pen on it.
• Allow the tip to cool completely
before changing it. Screw the tips
in and out using a suitable tool
such as pliers.
• The wood burning pen must
not be dismantled or modified in
any way.
• The heating element and tip get
very hot; let them cool properly
before touching them.
6. Burn the surface of the object following the pattern which
you sketched out in pencil beforehand.
7. Unplug the wood burning pen and wait until it has cooled.
Use pliers when changing the threaded tip. Unscrew the tip
and screw in another one.
8. When you have finished work, unplug the wood burning
pen and let it cool.
Included accessories: 9 different tips and 18 pattern stamps;
soldering tip for soft soldering; knife blade (and holder) for
cutting plastic, cutting and cauterising rope, etc.
Care and maintenance
• Unplug the mains lead before cleaning the product.
• Clean the product using a soft, moist cloth. Use a mild
detergent. Never use solvents or strong, abrasive cleaning
agents. They could damage the product.
Disposal
This product should be disposed of in accordance with local
regulations. If you are unsure how to proceed, contact your
local council.

Handy hint:
Connecting the wood burning pen to an electrical
outlet via a short-cycle time switch which will cut the power
after a set time in case you forget to switch it off or unplug it.
Operating instructions
1. Clean the surface of the object with fine grade sandpaper.
2. Sketch out what you plan to draw with a pencil first before
using the wood burning pen.
3. Screw the desired tip into the wood burning pen.
Different tips provide different pyrographic effects.
4. Place the wood burning pen onto the included stand.
Connect the plug to a power point and wait until the wood
burning pen warms up.
5. Hold the wood burning pen in your hand as you would
a regular pen.
