ALTERNATOR CHECK
1.
Connect the red clamp to the positive terminal (+) of the battery,
then connect the black clamp to the negative terminal (-).
•
Check that the measuring device has a good connection to
the battery
2.
Start the engine and turn on the headlights and radio.
•
The “GOOD” LED (B) will
light up if the alternator is
producing the correct
voltage.
•
If the “DEFECT” LED (A)
lights up, the alternator is
delivering an excess of
more than 14.8V.
•
If neither LED lights up, this
means that less than
13.8V is being detected
and the alternator may
be defective.
