Safety Precautions
WARNING!
Components of this Drum Kit are designed to rotate at very high speed. It
is vital that they are treated with care and respect. DO NOT USE if any
damage is in any way apparent.
❒
NEVER
use a drum if the spindle is bent or damaged in any way.
If used with a high speed air tool, you should test to ensure the spindles are not bent,
by first inserting into the jaws of an electric hand drill, tightly, switching ON and observing
the drum to determine its concentricity. If in doubt, do not use. Ensure the drum is
capable of withstanding the rotational speed of the tool - refer to ‘Specifications’
❒
ALWAYS
ensure the jaws are perfectly tight when inserting the spindle into a power tool,
and
ALWAYS
retest for tightness before every operation of the tool.
❒
ALWAYS
wear a Dust Mask and Safety Goggles, manufactured to the latest European
Standards, and a pair of industrial quality gloves, whenever you use this Drum Kit with
a Power Tool.
❒
When using on metal surfaces, take all necessary fire precautions, as sparks will be
given off.
Method of Use
A nut is provided on the spindle of each drum, which has a LEFT HAND THREAD. Turn the nut
clockwise
to move it away from the drum, so that a slight gap appears, then slide the
appropriate sleeve fully over the drum.
Turn the spindle nut
anticlockwise
, so that the drum begins to be squeezed, thereby gripping
the sleeve. Continue to turn the nut until the sleeve is held firm, but take care not to
overtighten.
Insert the drum spindle into your power tool, to the
FULL DEPTH
of the spindle, having ensured the
complete assembly is in perfect condition, and tighten the chuck or collet jaws fully.
