Selecting the fluid

Fill the bottle with CITC’s Little Blizzard® Fluid, placing the tubing with the filter inside
and at the bottom of the bottle. Use “Super Extra Dry” fluid for quickest evaporating
snow, or for use over performance stages. “Extra Dry” is our most popular fluid,
suitable for most indoor use. Use “Dry” fluid for longer lasting snow when flying over
45 feet or 15m. Use "Dry 100" for falling snow over 100' or 30m.

Operating the machine

The power switch is located on the back and will illuminate when turned on, however
this will not start the machine without the remote control (or DMX hooked up).

Fluid works best at around room temperature, or 68-80°F (20-27°C). Fluid
temperatures below 55° (13°C) will result in smaller and fewer flakes.

For best results, wait for the black sock to become thoroughly saturated with foam. This
may take up to 2 minutes.

To control particle size, simply increase the volume control knob (on the remote
control). The remote control knob will also start and stop the machine.  Similar to the
control on DMX, the volume knob is off at 0% – 5%. The blower comes on above 5%.
At 50% the snow will slowly start. 60% - 80% is the best adjusted volume. 80% -
100% will make the largest flake size.

The "Normal/Small" switch (see illustration on page 5) should be set to "Normal"
position for best output of flakes.  The "Small" setting will create smaller flakes which
will travel farther, but this setting will be noisier.  For quietest operation, use the
"Normal" setting.

Use of a long distance fan (Hurricane II™ Fan) will result in drier flakes as they leave
the machine.  Place the Hurricane II™ Fan under or close to the LITTLE BLIZZARD®
XT to blow the snow in an upward or outward direction.  Fan air and falling snow
should meet 20 - 30 inches (50cm – 75cm) in front of the LITTLE BLIZZARD® XT.
The snow coming from the machine will fall into the draft of the upward air movement
and start to fly the direction the fan is pointed.  The fan air will also cause the
“snowflakes” to dry while they travel 30 feet (10m) or more. Never have the fan
behind the LITTLE BLIZZARD® XT blowing at it.  This will cause a back draft and
create the wrong effect.

Operating machine using DMX

With DMX control, you will be able to adjust the snow output.
Each machine unit will occupy a unique DMX address on the DMX chain.  By adjusting
the dip switches on the side of the machine near the DMX cable plug-ins, the user may
assign one address to the machine, giving you on/off and volume control with one DMX
channel (there is no timer on this DMX).

Step 1).   Attach the DMX cable to the upper “DMX Input” connector located on the back
of the snow machine.
