NT Server

Changing the Boot.ini file for serial 
integrations

If you are using a serial integration to connect the Unity or 
ActiveFax server and the phone system, do the following proce-
dure to ensure that Windows NT does not mistake the serial con-
nection for a serial mouse.

To change the Boot.ini file for serial integrations

a

Make a backup copy of the Boot.ini file.

b

Remove the hidden, system, and read-only attributes from 

the Boot.ini file.

c

Using a text editor (for example, Notepad), open the Boot.ini 

file.

d

Type

 

/NoSerialMice

 

at the end of each entry in the 

[operating systems] section of Boot.ini, for example:
