Configuring the Auto Attendant
Use the
Auto Attendant
page to configure the Auto Attendant prompts, and
menus. Refer to the following topics

Use this page to define the buttons that your callers can press to contact
extensions, groups, and external numbers. If you enabled an automatic Day/Night
schedule, you can configure a Day menu and a Night menu. (See

Opening this page: From the navigation pane, choose
Call Routing > Auto

. Then click the appropriate tab to work with a menu or prompts.
General Settings:
Specify the following settings for the main AA menu and for any submenus that
you create (see the “Buttons” section below).

Initial Menu Prompt:
Choose the prompt that is played when a caller first
enters the AA menu. To edit the description for a selected prompt, click the
pencil icon, type the new description, and then click
Done
. To add a new
prompt, click the plus button (
+
) and type a description. For information

Allow Direct Extension Dial
Check this box if you want to allow callers to
enter extension numbers. This option is selected by default and is
announced as a valid option in the default Prompt 1. If you do not want to
enable this feature, uncheck the box, and be sure to record a custom
prompt to replace default Prompt 1 (“If you know your party's extension, you
may dial it now.”).

Seconds Until Timeout:
Enter the number of idle seconds that the AA will
wait for a caller’s response.
