Chapter 1 Overview of the Content Delivery Engines

Hardware Features

In order to get the maximum performance, connect the CDE250 4 10-GE ports to ports 1, 5, 9, and13 as
shown in

.

The WS-X6708-10GE line card also comes with 40-GE fabric and four groups, but it has two ports per
group. If you are using this line card, connect to the first port of each group, ports 1, 2, 5, and 6.

Note

You may use different vendor’s switches or routers with the CDE250, refer to the vendor’s 10-GE line
card specifications for connectivity information.

CDE280 Hardware Overview

Note

The CDE280 engine is supported with the VDS-IS Software Applications.

The CDE280 engine is supported with the VDS-TV Software Applications.

•

The CDE280 is a fully optimized solution on the Cisco Unified Computing System

(Cisco UCS®)

server platform.
