Configuring a Fast Ethernet WAN Interface
To configure the Fast Ethernet interface on a Cisco 861 or 881 ISR, perform these steps, beginning in
global configuration mode:

Configuring a VDSL2 WAN Interface
The VDSL2 WAN interface is used on the Cisco 887V ISR platforms. Note that the VDSL2 WAN
interface uses Ethernet as the Layer 2 transport mechanism. To configure VDSL2 on the Cisco 887V
ISR, perform these steps, beginning in global configuration mode.

Enters the configuration mode for a Fast
Ethernet WAN interface on the router.

Sets the IP address and subnet mask for the
specified Fast Ethernet interface.
Step 3
no shutdown
Example:
Router(config-if)# no shutdown
Router(config-if)#
Enables the Ethernet interface, changing its
state from administratively down to
administratively up.
Step 4
exit
Example:
Router(config-if)# exit
Router(config)#
Exits configuration mode for the Fast Ethernet
interface and returns to global configuration
mode.
