Remove and Replace Cisco 4000 Series ISRs Power Supplies
Remove DC Input Power from Cisco 4461 or 4431 ISR
This section describes how to remove a DC power supply from Cisco 4461 or 4431 ISR.
Note
The Cisco 4431 ISR has redundant power supplies that can be hot-swapped.
To remove a DC power supply from Cisco 4461 or 4431 ISR:
Step 1
If you have redundant power supplies, ensure that the power switch is in the standby position.
Note
You do not require to place the power switch in the standby position if you want to hot-swap a
single power supply.
Warning
Before performing any of the following procedures, ensure that power is removed from the DC circuit.

Step 2
For Cisco 4461 ISR and Cisco 4431 ISR, unscrew the two terminal block wire connectors (negative and
positive) on the unit. See
For Cisco 4451 ISR and Cisco 4351, unscrew the three terminal block wire connectors (ground, negative
and positive) on the unit. For Cisco 4331 ISR, remove the power supply cable connector (See
) and remove the two screws that secure the power supply module to the chassis.
Step 3
[Only for Cisco 4461, 4431, and 4331 ISRs] Remove the plastic bezel from the router.
Step 4
Press the retaining latch towards the pull handle, grasp the handle with one hand, and pull the power
supply out of the slot while supporting the weight of the power supply with the other hand. See
