Colors & Palettes 10-12 Revision D
• The Logo Compose option allows you to define up to
31 colors per character, each of which can be a differ-
ent color.
In Subpalette mode, the colors that are mapped onto out-
lined and gradated objects are set using the Subpalettes.
Each Color Key has its own Subpalette, which contain 29
color indexes or positions (positions 3 - 31) which are set
on the Subpalette Spectrum. Each Subpalette can be cre-
ated and recorded (§10.4.3) independently. For example,
the Subpalette for the Color Key
RED
can be changed, so
that when it is applied to a character, the color gradates
from blue to green, instead of from one shade of red to
another.
NOTE
A Subpalette is not applied to
characters or objects that are not
created in Flash Font, Advanced Font
Create and/or Logo Compose.
Additionally, not all effects applied to
a character are necessarily affected
by a change in the Subpalette.
Experiment to see how the positions
on the Subpalette Spectrum (Figure
10-9) map to the character or object.
Of course, always preview the results
before airing.
Two types of Subpalette setup are available:
• To see the Subpalette spectrum, press
CNTL P P
from the Message Compose main menu, or press P
from within the Palette menu.
Standard
Mainly for Logo Compose objects. Choose individual
colors for each of up to 29 positions on the character.
Gradated Used for features such as
Bevel
,
Chisel
, and shad-
ing. Two colors and start and end positions are cho-
sen. The system generates a color gradation from one
to the other.
