A Subpalette can contain both gradations and individual
colors. You can also create a gradation, then change indi-
vidual colors within that gradation or add a gradation
within the first gradation.
Several gradations can be placed end-to-end in a single
Subpalette to create interesting effects.
• After finishing one gradation, make the end point of
the first gradation the start point for the next. Pick a
new end point, then gradate again. The result is a
smooth gradation from color to color.

• To exit from Subpalette and return to Palette mode,
press
P
or select
Palette
.
• To exit and return to Message Compose, press Q ,
CNTL
or select
Quit
.
• To exit without saving changes, press ESC .

To record an individual Subpalette:
• While in the Subpalette menu, press CLR , then
enter an unoccupied ID number. Press
RCD
or
select Record .
To read back a Subpalette:
• From the Message Compose main menu or Pal-
ette menu:
Press
CLR
, then enter the message ID
number. Press READ . The Subpalette information is
written to the Color Key position (for example,
RED
)
from which it was recorded.
