Tighten the Inner Band
Vibration in the outer band of the rodless air
cylinder indicates the inner band in loose and
must be tightened. Because three parts must be
manipulated at the same time, this procedure
should be performed by two workers.
Required Tools
small slotted screwdriver, metric Allen
wrenches, clean lint-free cloth
Perform only when the unit is OFF
with power disconnected.
NOTE: This procedure should
be performed by two workers.
Make sure the discharge conveyor is in
the UP position and that the safety latch
is engaged.
Turn power OFF at the main disconnect
switch.
Turn OFF the compressed air supply to
the unit.
Make sure the compressed air system is
depressurized.
Pull the station’s transfer clamp assembly
toward the center of the machine.
Manually move the rodless air cylinder so
that it is about 6” (15 cm) from the front
of its travel (Figure 7-77).
Remove the black plastic cap which covers
the inner and outer band retaining screws
(Figure 7-78).
Remove the outer band retaining screw
(Figure 7-79). Be careful not to remove
the inner band screw which is right next
to the end cap.
