7.7 Reject Section

The reject section moves dropped ﬂatwork

from the transfer section to the front of the

machine. While the reject section is mechanically

simple, various components require periodic

adjustment or replacement, or occasional repair.

These procedures include:

Transfer Conveyor Drive Belt

Tension Adjustment

Over time, the transfer conveyor’s power twist

drive belt will stretch due to normal wear and

tear. Tension on the belt must be adjusted if it is

noticeably slack or if it begins to slip.

Required Tools

Phillips screwdriver, pliers

Perform only when the unit is OFF

with power disconnected.

Turn power OFF at the main disconnect

switch.

Locate the safety cover for the transfer

conveyor drive belt (Figure 7-44).

Remove the screws which secure the cover

and set it aside.
