79 Climate Control System
AIR CONDITIONING
SYSTEM
The refrigerant in the air conditioning
system can cool down the air inside the
vehicle, removing moisture from the
air.
Even when the air conditioning system
is on, your vehicle will produce warm
air if the temperature control selector is
set to a relatively high temperature.
Caution
You may notice a water drip from
under the engine compartment
sometimes after driving with air
conditioning on.
This is normal because your cooling
system removes moisture from the
air.
Note
Because the compressor of the air-
conditioning system shares the
engine power, you may notice a
slight drop in engine power and
performance when the compressor is
operating.
Warning
Driving with recirculation mode for
prolonged period of time can make
you sleepy. Periodically turn to the
outside air mode for fresh air.
The exchange of fresh air is reduced
in air recirculation mode. In
operation without cooling, the air
humidity increases, so the windows
may mist up. The quality of the
passenger compartment air deterio-
rates, which may cause the vehicle
occupants to feel drowsy.
