Seating and Cargo Versatility
Fold-Flat Front Passenger Seat
The front passenger seatback can be
folded flat to permit loading of long
cargo or it can serve as a table surface
when parked.
To fold down the front passenger
seatback
1. First, ensure that the seatback is
fully upright
, by pulling up on the
recliner handle at the side of the seat.
Then, lower the head restraint to its
lowest position.
2. Push in the release button located on
either side of the passenger seat-
back.
3. Fold the seatback forward.
Caution:
Ensure that longer cargo is not
near an air bag. In a crash, an inflating
air bag might force that object toward a
person, which could cause severe injury
or even death.
To raise the seatback
• Push in the release button and pull
the seatback up to lock it in place.
Folding the 60/40 Split Rear Seat
The split folding rear seatback permits
loading of longer items from the rear
cargo area.
To fold down the rear seatback on
the sedan
1. Open the trunk and pull one or both
of the gray handles located on the
upper side of the trunk opening (see
“A” above). The left handle opens the
larger seatback; the right handle
opens the smaller side.
2. Push the seatback open through the
trunk or pull it open from inside the
vehicle.
• To return seatback to upright position.
Push the seatback up until you hear a
click; then pull on the seatback to
make sure it is secure.
To fold down the rear seatback on
the Malibu MAXX
1. Pull up and hold the recliner lever
located on the side of either rear
seat. Push the seatback into the
down position.
2. To return seatback to upright position.
Push the seatback up until you hear a
click; then pull on the seatback to
make sure it is secure.
