•

Raise the vehicle by turning the jack
screw clockwise with the jack handle.
Raise the vehicle until the tire just
clears the ground surface and there
is enough clearance to install the
spare tire.

WARNING!

Minimum tire lift provides maximum
stability.

•

Remove the wheel nuts.

•

Remove the wheel and tire assem-
bly from the hub.

•

Install the spare tire.

•

Install the wheel nuts with the ta-
pered end of the nuts toward the
wheel. Lightly tighten the nuts by
hand.

•

Lower the vehicle by turning the jack
screw counterclockwise with the jack
handle.

•

Finish tightening the wheel nuts. Al-
ternate tightening wheel nuts firmly
in a criss-cross pattern until each nut
has been tightened twice. Correct
wheel nut torque is 110 N

•

m.

CAUTION!

To verify correct wheel nut torque,
have them checked with a torque
wrench by your authorized Chery
dealer as soon as possible after the re-
pair.

•

Lower the jack to its fully closed po-
sition.

•

Stow the jack-handle and jack.

•

Place the flat tire in the trunk. Have
it repaired or replaced as soon as
possible.

You should call a service station for
help if your vehicle overheats.

If your engine coolant temperature
gauge indicates overheating, if you ex-
perience a loss of power, or if you hear
a loud knocking or pinging noise, the
engine has probably overheated. You
should perform the following proce-
dure.

•

Pull over the vehicle, stop the vehicle

and turn on your hazard warning
flasher. Put the transaxle in

tomatic) or neutral (manual) and ap-
ply the parking brake. Turn the air
conditioner off if it is being used.
