Origin of a circuit
How to find the origin of a circuit: identify a circuit breaker on a fuse board,
for example.
- Connect the Emitter between the live side of a socket which has a short
circuit and a non-adjacent earth of the circuit so that a big loop is created.
- Select the lowest sensitivity (sensitivity 1).
- Sweep the fuse board with the Receiver until the max. display is
obtained on the visual display, and the loudest audio signal.
- The circuit breaker corresponding to the socket has been found.
APPLICATIONS
Reminder :
- Always work between the emitter and the voltage source.
- Always separate the outward and the return when possible (big loop connection).
WARNING :
In 3-phase, if the load on one of the phases is very capacitative,
the pulsed current with a 3500 Hz frequency can in certain cases
cross the condenser equivalent to the load and continue its run
on the other phase instead of returning through the neutral.
That’s why it is always preferable to connect the Emitter between
live and earth rather than between live and neutral.
