Introduction
An Inverter is an electronic device which converts low voltage 12V DC
electricity from a battery, or other power source, to standard 230 volts 50
Hz AC (Alternating Current) mains power. The regulated output voltage
enables you to use your domestic equipment everywhere.
To ensure you operate the device properly, please read the manual
carefully before you use and save it for future reference.
WARNING: Power inverter supplies an output voltage
of 230V AC which is as dangerous as the domestic
mains voltage. Don’t expose the inverter to wet and
always place it in a well ventilated, dry area & keep
away from any liquid, rain and snow.
Protective Features
Low Voltage Protection
- This is not harmful to the inverter but could
damage the power source. An audible alarm sounds when the input
voltage drops to 10.5 volts and the inverter shuts down when the input
voltage drops to 10.0 volts. When the condition is corrected (i.e. battery
charged) the unit may be re-used.
Over Voltage Protection
- The unit will automatically shut down when the
input voltage exceeds 15 volts DC.
Short Circuit
- Short circuit of the load will usually result in the blowing of
the internal blade fuses (50A/32V). Immediately disconnect the shorted
load, repair is necessary and replace the fuse with an equivalent by a
qualified electrician.
Overload Protection
- The inverter will automatically shut down if the
continuous draw exceeds its maximum rating.
Temperature Protection
- If the temperature of the external heat sink
reaches 65˚ C, the unit will shut down automatically. The unit may be
restarted by turning it OFF. Leave it for about 15 minutes to cool down, and
then turning it on again.
