3.1) Accurate cleaning
Dust, sand and dirt are a danger for any hydraulic device.
Avoid putting the head on muddy or dusty ground. Any dirt particles may score the ram and crea-
te oil leaks.
Every day, after use, the head must be cleaned with a clean cloth, taking care to remove any residual
particles, especially around the moving parts.
3.2) Replacement of the automatic coupler
To replace the automatic coupler proceed as follows:
– Remove the old coupler.
– Carefully clean the thread of the head to remove the old sealant.
– Apply Tefl on tape to the thread.
– Fit the new automatic coupler and tighten to
30 Nm (22 lbf ft)
.
3.3) Storage
When not in use, the head should be stored and transported in the plastic case, to prevent damage.
Plastic case:
size 448x293x98 mm (17.6x11.5x3.8 in.); weight 1,4 kg (3.1 lbs).
4. BLADES CHANGING
(Ref. to Fig. 3)
Only perform this operation with the head disconnected from the pump.
Incorrect blade positioning can cause damage the head.
The blade may become worn or damaged through prolonged or improper use.
Replace the damaged blade as follows:
4.1) Moving blade
– Make sure that the ram is completely retracted. If this is not the case follow the instruc-
tions described in §
2.4
.
– With Allen keys provided, remove security grub screw (4) and slacken grub screw (3) until the
blade is free.
– Remove the old blade from the head.
– Fully insert the new blade (2) .
Ensure that the short side of the blade is positioned at the front
of the head
as illustrated in Fig. 3.
– Fully tighten grub screw (3) and fi t the security grub screw (4).
4.2) Fixed blade (RHTD410T)
– With 4 mm Allen key, remove screw (16) until the blade is free to be removed.
– Fully insert the new blade (14) and secure with the fi xing screw (16) and washer (15).
