Prior to assembly carry out an inspection on the joiner as follows: -
When the parts are assembled during manufacture, grease is applied to the threads inside the
joiner to ensure free movement, the bolt should be able to freely turn in the captive nut inside
the joiner assembly, ensure this is the case prior to assembly, the nut must remain stationary.
Do not turn the screw counter clockwise to the point where the nut emerges from the bottom
of the assembly
.
Insert a joiner in both Permaport
®
Xpress’s
as
shown, ensure that the joiner is fully seated, use a
mallet to drive home if necessary. Tighten the bolt
using a ¾” socket, do not over tighten, 30 ft. Lbs. of
torque is adequate (Moderate force on a 12” socket
ratchet). Do not use an impact wrench to tighten.
Repeat on the second bolt. Add the two Bolt head caps

together using an

walk between them, details for this are contained in the
Xpress
walk
instructions.
