Traffic Control Offload
Use traffic control (TC) offload in the 45000 Series Adapters to control flows
based on packet attributes (primarily on the receive side) and to choose different
traffic classes (for example, Multiqueue Priority Qdisc [MQPRIO] offload) on the
adapter based on flow priorities on the transmission side.
This chapter provides the following information about traffic control offload:
“Ingress Packet Redirection” on page 272
“TC Drop Action Support (Ingress Drop)” on page 273
“TC MQPRIO Offload” on page 273
Requirements
Traffic control offload requires:
An upstream kernel with the
CONFIG_NET_CLS_FLOWER=m
kernel set
The latest OSs, including SLES 12 SP3 and Ubuntu
(Optional) The latest TC or IP utility (recommended if you encounter
problems with inbox utilities)
Current Support
The traffic control offload feature currently supports the following:
Ingress packet redirection based on the destination IP in the packet to the
offloaded MAC-vLAN devices or SR-IOV virtual functions (VFs). See
Drop action support based on the destination IP in the packet. See
.
MQPRIO offload on transmission-based packet priorities. See
