The red mark (11) shows the max
.
level compatible with the good functioning of
separator
: it must never be exceeded. You could wait and replace the container when the
red mark has been reached, but we recommend to replace it when the level is 5 mm below
the red mark (11) and to
check the amalgam level every evening
after the usual cleaning
of the aspiration system.
Amalgam container replacement
(Fig. 1-2, pag. 51-52)
• Electrical shock risk: even 230 V power can be lethal
• Biological danger, danger of infections from epidemic diseases
• High temperature
• Generic danger sign
• Compulsory direction of fl ow and rotation sense
Wear disposable gloves, an operating mask, and glasses as
protections against any
accidental spurt before starting to replace the amalgam container
.
Disconnect the
appliance
where the separator is installed on
from the power supply
. Open the tap (12)
to drain the liquids left in the separator and in the container. This liquid is contaminated
and may contain mercury residues. Make sure it does not drop and that it is collected and
sucked up again. The simplest way is to collect it by the new amalgam container (det. 5)
that is going to replace the fi lled one. Hold fi rmly the container with one hand to prevent its
falling, lift the handle (13) upright, slide off the container and fi ll it with undiluted disinfect-
ant Puli-Jet plus or with other suitable product. Open the valve (15) on the container lid
(14), place the lid on the container and close the valve. The container is manufactured in
shock–proof material and it is sealing closed. The container is full of toxic, harmful, and
epidemic diseases contaminating material: it must be handled with care.
To obtain the list of fi rms or institutes
authorized for disposal
or further information about
the disposal, contact to the professional associations and unions or to local authorities.
In compliance with local regulations
, the container must be given to the care of fi rms
or institutes specifi cally authorized for transport, disposal or recycling. A new container
must be slid in as the previous one and the handle turned down up to touch the container.
To reset the appliance, close the tap (12) and connect the appliance to the power supply
again. Once the amalgam separator has been closed, suck up the drained fl uid to separate
amalgam particles that may be present in the fl uid.
Once the amalgam level has reached 95% of container capacity, in case of electronic
control fi tted appliances, the operator can wait for the max. level but the aspiration may
be completely stopped, as the switching off of the appliance is enough to block it. For this
reason we recommend to wash carefully the dental unit aspiration system according to
the manufacturer directions once the amalgam has reached the 95% container capac-
ity or is 5mm below the red mark and then replace the container without waiting for the
maximum level. This procedure reduces noticeably the risks of contamination and of
unwanted forced interruptions.
Installation
(Fig. 1-2 , pag. 51-52)
Every machine is provided with an installation kit and an istruction manual, which must
be consulted. The Hydrocyclone must be installed downstream an air-water separator
and in an upright position. The appliance is fi tted with four fi xing holes (17).
Debris inlet
and outlet are marked by raised arrows: they must not be inverted
. The separator
must be easy to reach from any side.An open space of at least 3 cm is needed below the
