Engine - Fuel tanks
Fuel tank - Remove
WARNING
Avoid injury!
Handle all parts carefully. Do not place your hands or fingers between parts. Use Personal Protec-
tive Equipment (PPE) as indicated in this manual, including protective goggles, gloves, and safety
footwear.

Lift and handle all heavy components using lifting equipment with adequate capacity. Always support
units or parts with suitable slings or hooks. Make sure the work area is clear of all bystanders.

Rear wheel - Remove (44.520)
.
Fuel tank - Remove (10.216) .
Ladder - Remove (90.118) .
Tool box - Remove (88.100) .
1. Empty the fuel tank.
2. Empty the DEF/A

® diesel exhaust liquid tank as
described in Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF)/AdBlue®/
ARLA tank - Change fluid (10.500) .
3. Empty the coolant reservoir as described in Radiator -
Change fluid (10.400) .
4. Remove the rubber extension (1) of the left-hand side
rear fender.

5. Unscrew the retaining bolts (2) of the upper shield (1)
and of the front shield (3) of the fuel tank and recover
the respective washers.
6. Remove the shields (1) and (3) .
