SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS
Installation and servicing of air-conditioning equipment
can be hazardous due to system pressures and electrical com-
ponents. Only trained and qualified service personnel should
install, repair, or service air-conditioning equipment. When
working on air-conditioning equipment, observe all precau-
tions in the literature, tags, and labels attached to the unit,
and other safety precautions that may apply.
Before performing installation, service, or maintenance
operations on unit, turn off main power switch. Elec-
trical shock could cause personal injury.

Be sure that the correct kit is selected for installation. Use
part number 53DS-900---062 (115 v) for size 009 cooling
units only and heat pump high wall units. Use part number
53DS-900---064 (230 v) for size 012,018, and 024 cooling
units only and heat pump high wall units.
INSTALLATION
NOTE: For ease of installation, it is recommended that the
detection unit assembly be installed prior to installation of
the fan coil unit.
1. Unpack contents of condensate pump accessory package.
Attach 1-in. hose and transparent vent tubing to detection
unit (see Fig. 2 and 3). Slide mounting bracket onto bot-
tom of detection unit. Uncoil 4.5 ft low voltage power
cord.
2. Remove fan coil mounting bracket from back of unit. Con-
nect detection unit with 1 in. hose to fan coil unit con-
densate drain line (see Fig. 3). Detection unit must be
installed horizontally for proper operation of float switch.
It is recommended that mounting bracket be ce-
mented to inside of the unit located adjacent to the
fan coil drain as depicted on Fig. 3. Attach one end of
transparent tubing to detection unit. Connect one end of
low voltage power cord to telephone jack on detection
unit and route cord and transparent tubing through knock-
out on right side of the fan coil unit enclosure (see Fig 3).
Detection unit must be mounted on same plane as con-
densate pan to properly detect condensate level.
3. Determine mounting location of pump assembly unit (for
best operation, it is recommended pump assembly be
mounted in a vertical position with flow arrow on unit
pointing up (see Fig. 1). DO NOT EXCEED 8.2 FT
MAXIMUM LIFT. Connect other end of low voltage
power cord from detection unit to telephone jack on pump
assembly. For suction line connection measure distance
between detection unit and pump assembly unit and cut
proper length of transparent tubing and connect between
detection unit and pump assembly.
