INSTALLATION FOR 30HX APPLICATIONS
1. Open and tag all electrical disconnects.
2. Remove the 3 control box panels on the chiller to access
the chiller power and control wiring.
3. Remove the accessory control transformer from the
carton.
4. On units with single point power connections (that is, a
single power terminal block or disconnect), install the
accessory control transformer to the right of the discon-
nect or the power terminal block (TB1A). See Fig. 7. Since
there are no pre-drilled holes in the chiller control box,
see Fig. 8 for transformer hole pattern. Screws, washers,
and nuts are provided in the accessory kit.
5. On units with dual power supplies, install the trans-
former at the top of the control box between the 2 in-
coming power supplies. See Fig. 7. Since there are no
pre-drilled holes in the chiller control box, see Fig. 8 for
transformer hole pattern. Screws, washers, and nuts are
provided in the accessory kit.
6. Run 14 gage wire (field supplied) from any 2 terminals
of the field power supply terminal block (TB1A) to the
appropriate terminals on the primary side of the acces-
sory control transformer. See Fig. 9 for correct electrical
connections for your primary voltage. The transformer uses

-in. male quick connects.
7. Run 14 gage wire (field supplied) from the secondary side
of the transformer (contact points X1 and X2) to termi-
nals 1 and 2 of terminal block TB4 in the chiller control
box.
8. Make sure that all connections are correct and tight. Re-
install the 3 chiller control panel covers.
9. Restore power to the chiller and verify its correct opera-
tion as described in the base unit Start-Up and Service
Instructions.
