b. Insert funnel into tube and pour 1 quart of water into tube.

This should overfill the trap and flow into an open drain.

c. Reconnect drain tube to bottom of inducer housing.

2. Purge gas lines.

If not previously done, purge the lines after all connections have
been made and check for leaks.

Never purge a line into a combustion chamber. Never use
matches, candles, flame, or other sources of ignition for the
purpose of checking leakage. Use a soap-and-water solution
to check for leakage. Failure to follow this warning could
result in a fire, explosion, personal injury, or death.

3. Furnace Operation

Follow procedures on operating instruction label attached to
furnace. With furnace operating, set thermostat below room
temperature and observe that furnace goes off. Set thermostat
above room temperature and observe that furnace restarts.

ADJUSTMENTS

NOTE:

Do not use the Carrier orifice calculator for this unit—the

orifice K-factor for this unit is different.

1. Set gas input rate.

There are 2 methods of adjusting gas input rate. The preferred
method is by using Table 8 and following instructions in item a.
The second method is by clocking the gas meter and following
instructions in item b. Item b must be used for altitudes above 2000
ft.

a. Determine natural gas orifice size and manifold pressure

for correct input by using Table 8. Adjust manifold
pressure per item c.
