9 Quarryman Pro troubleshooting guide
9.1 Diagnosis of some common issues
Some of the most common support questions are outlined below. If you experience a problem with your Quarryman
Pro system or the resulting data, check the list to find the cause and action, and also a reference to the relevant
section in this manual.
Instrument does not power up
Cause
Remedy

Power cable not connected.
Ensure all connections are
securely connected.

Lithium-ion battery not charged.
Ensure the battery is charged prior
to scanning operations.

Power cable damaged.
Check all pins, connectors and the
cable itself for signs of damage.
Arrange for repair or replacement.

Instrument shutting down during operations
Cause
Remedy

Battery is discharged.
Swap to a back-up power source or
ensure the battery supplied is fully
charged.

Using a lead acid battery.
If using a lead acid battery, press 5
for 3 seconds while the instrument
is powering up. The battery icon on
the status bar will indicate Pb if the
selection has been registered.

Avoid pointing the laser into strong
sunlight, as this will interfere with
the receiving optics.

Standing water, running water or
wet surfaces on the targeted face.
Laser ranging to wet surfaces is
unpredictable.
