Operating instructions for the
Permanent magnetic lifter
CSmag
3. Operations
3.1
Before lifting a component, you should ensure that its surface is free from any rust or burr.
The centreline of lifter must be over the centreline of component. Place the magnetic lifter
against the component, turn the nozzle from “OFF” to “ON” until reaching the position
“HOLDING”. Make sure that the security key on the handle is automatically locked then start
to lift the component.
3.2
When lifting and handing components, overloading is prohibited. Persons are not permit-
ted to pass beneath the component held by magnetic lifter. The components’ temperature
and ambient temperature must be b80°C and -40°C. Strong vibration and impacts
must be avoided.
3.3
When lifting and handling cylindrical components, the cylindrical surface must remain in
contact with the lifter’s v-slot. The actual lifting capacity will generally be 30% of the rated lift-
ing capacity.
3.4
When lifting and handling is complete, press the button to disengage the security key
from the security pin then turn the handle from “ON” to “OFF” until reaching the position
“RELEASE”. The lifter is now in a neutral state and can be removed from the component.
