Installation
Switch off ignition and disconnect the vehicle’s battery! If according to factory rules
disconnecting the battery has to be avoided, it is usually sufficient to put the vehicle is
sleep-mode. In case the sleep-mode does not show success, disconnect the battery with a
resistor lead.
S-Class: Place of installation is at the head-unit, this is behind the flap below the control
unit. Monitor and the control unit must NOT be removed!
The centre console must be loosened in S-Class (W222) and pushed back. In luxury models
with separate rear seats the centre console is continuous and the rear seats must be
removed, too.
The vehicle is very responsive to disconnected vehicle parts while battery is connected.
Therefore the error memory of the vehicle must be deleted after installation.
Note:
Any existing fiber optical cables on the original Quadlock plug must be reconnected to
the TV-MBN5 harness.
