Operation
Mains lead storage
Unwind the lead completely before using the toaster and make sure that it does
not come into contact with the casing of the appliance. Let the toaster cool off
sufficiently before winding the lead up for storage after use.
Before initial use
Run the toaster on maximum setting a few times without bread in a well-ventilated
area as the toaster can emit strong odours when new. This is quite normal and is
caused by the burning of residues from the manufacturing process.
Setting the browning level
The browning level is set by turning the browning control knob.
Light browning:
Turn the knob anticlockwise.
Dark browning:
Turn the knob clockwise.
Toasting
• When you have selected the desired browning setting, insert bread into the
toaster and depress the toasting lever. The toasting indicator light should
now be lit.
• When the desired browning level has been reached, the toaster will
automatically shut off. The bread slices will pop up and can be removed when
the indicator light goes out.
• Raise the lever to help remove the slices of toast.
• If you want to achieve consistent results when roasting several slices of toast
at a time, let the toaster cool for 60 – 90 seconds between use.
Defrosting
When using the toaster to toast frozen bread, use the defrost feature. This feature
extends the toasting time. An indicator lamp shows when this feature is active.
Reheating
The reheat feature is practical for reheating already toasted bread.
Warning:
Do not reheat bread that has been buttered. The reheat indicator light
comes on when this feature is active.
Cancelling
Press the cancel button to stop toasting. The toaster will immediately shut off and
the bread slices will pop up.
