CHAPTER 2 OPERATIONS AND TIMING
3. Controlling the bin shift motor
The following diagram shows the control circuit used to control the bin shift motor.
The bin shift motor (M4) is a DC motor, and is controlled by its drive circuit to move up and
down the bin unit.
The drive system of the bin unit is equipped with the following sensors and switches to monitor
specific operations:
• Lead Cam Home Position Sensor (PI1)
Detects the stop position of the lead cam.
• Bin Shift motor Clock Sensor (PI2)
Detects the speed at which the bin unit moves up/down for control.
• Bin Unit Shift Home Position/Lower Limit Sensor (PI3), Bin Unit Upper Limit Sensor (PI4)
Detect an overrun condition of the bin unit.
• Stapler Unit Home Position Switch (SW1)
When the stapler unit is not at home position, the stapler unit home position switch (SW1)
cuts off the 24V current, thereby preventing the bin shift motor (M4) from rotating, to
prevent contact between the bin unit and the stapler unit.
• Load Detecting Switch (SW3)
If the bin unit hits against something when it moves down, the load detecting switch will
open to cut 24V current, thereby stopping the bin shift motor (M4).
