HIGH RESOLUTION 16:9
Don’t be confused by the numbers: in simple terms, this
is widescreen. Use 16:9 to fill the corners of your wide
screen television with majestic panoramas, bringing all
the drama of cinema to your memories. Many camcorder
Widescreen modes produce lower quality because they
literally cut off the top and bottom of your image to create
the effect. In contrast, Canon’s 16:9 mode uses more –
not less – of the sensor, giving you a higher resolution
result worthy of any home entertainment system.

the high resolution 16:9 ratio.
