4. Second Feed Pick-up System
On completion of the side registration adjustment, the CPU turns ON the duplex feed clutch
(CL21). The CPU turns OFF CL21 approx. 1.0 second (1.9 seconds for wide and narrow paper
types) after detecting the leading edge of the paper at the duplexing unit paper sensor (PS21).
The CPU then stops the paper at the second-pass pick-up wait position and waits for second-pass
pick-up command to be input from the printer.

On receival of these commands the CPU controls the feeding speed of the switchback motor

(SMT21) according to the paper feed speed of the printer. Following this CL21 is turned ON and
the paper is fed into the printer.
