Procedures Required for a TCP/IP Network
Here is a summary of the procedures required to set the printer for use on a
TCP/IP network.
z
Steps 1, 2, and 3 should be performed by the network system administrator.
z
An LPD connected print application can be used to print on the TCP/IP network.
z
This printer is not compatible with RAW protocol. If you are using Windows XP or
Windows 2000, you must set and use LPR protocol.

2 Setting the Printer IP Address

Setting the IP address allows setting the printer protocol to enable communication between the
printer and the computer . You can use one of the methods below to set the protocol:
• GARO Device Setup Utility (Canon software application provided with the printer)
• ARP/PING command
• Printer operation panel
