SUPERRANGE OPTICAL IMAGE
STABILIZER
Canon’s SuperRange Optical Image Stabilizer Technology uses
a gyro sensor to detect camera movement and compensate
for shake and jitter. Greater compensation is achieved by
analyzing the image on the CCD, resulting in highly reliable
camera shake correction, without degradation, even at long
focal lengths.
THREE 1/3" NATIVE 16:9 CCDs

A sophisticated 3CCD design employs
separate native 16:9 sensors for each
primary color. Each sensor has 1.67
million pixels (1440 x 1080), giving the
camcorders a high pixel count equal
to 800 TV lines of horizontal resolution. Canon’s superior
design delivers outstanding picture quality at 1080 HD reso-
lution. It further ensures highly accurate color with wide
dynamic range and virtually no color noise.
DIGIC DV II HD IMAGE PROCESSOR
Designed for HD camcorders,
the DIGIC DV II HD Image
Processor delivers the superior image
quality and operates at 1440 x 1080
pixels with 4:2:2 color sampling. It
features a hybrid noise reduction system and employs dual
processes to create brilliantly clear HD images.
HD-SDI, GENLOCK AND
TIME CODE CONNECTION TERMINALS
The Canon XL H1S and XH G1 offer
industry standard HD-SDI, Genlock
and Time Code connections (BNC).
SDI outputs conform to industry
standard HD-SDI (SMPTE 299M) or
SD-SDI (SMPTE 272M), including embedded audio and time
code. The HD-SDI output provides a pristine, uncompressed
1.485Gbps 60i signal at 1920 x 1080 resolution with 4:2:2
color sampling. Genlock input enables synchronization of a
multi-camera, live-switched production environment in the
studio or on location. SMPTE Time Code input and output
terminals (switchable terminal on XH G1) accommodates time
code requirements in multi-camera shoots, or when synching
with other devices.
