Action to Take after Replacing the CCD Unit

Perform the following procedure after replacing the CCD unit:

CAUTION:

•  Before replacing the CCD unit, enter the following service mode and output a 

P-PRINT.
- COPIER> FUNCTION> MISC-P> P-PRINT

1) Install the new CCD unit.
2)Turn ON the main power switch and enter the service mode.
3) Input the following items according to the P-PRINT output in advance.

4) When the reader is equipped with the DADF, perform the adjustment with the following 

service mode. When the reader is not equipped with DADF, go to Step 5).
“COPIER> FUNCTION> CCD> DF-WLVL1, 2, 3 and 4 (DF white level adjustment)” 
4-1)   Place a sheet of paper which the user usually uses on the platen glass and execute 

the following service mode. As the result, the white level in the book mode is read. 
(Checking the transparency of the glass for the book mode)

- COPIER> FUNCTION> CCD> DFWLV1 (for color)
4-2)   Place a sheet of paper which the user usually uses on the DF tray and execute the 

following service mode. As the result, the white level in the DF stream reading mode 
is read. Both sides of the sheet are scanned.

(Checking the transparency of the glass for the stream reading)

- COPIER> FUNCTION> CCD> DFWLV2 (for color)

- COPIER> FUNCTION> CCD> DFWLV3 (for black and white)
4-4)   Place a sheet of paper which the user usually uses on the DF tray and execute the 

following service mode. As the result, the white level in the DF stream reading mode 
is read. Both sides of the sheet are scanned.

(Checking the transparency of the glass for the stream reading)

- COPIER> FUNCTION> CCD> DFWLV4 (for black and white)

5) When the reader is equipped with the DADF, perform the following service mode.

When the reader is not equipped with DADF, go to Step 5).
- COPIER> FUNCTION> INSTALL> STRD-POS (Stream reading position adjustment)

6)  Change the value of the following service mode from “0” to “1” .

- COPIER> ADJUST> CCD> CCD-CHNG: 0 to 1

7) Transcribe the following values of the CCD unit label to the service label affixed on the 

reverse side of the PCB cover on the reader rear cover.
- 100-RG, 100-GB, 50-RG, 50-GB and MTF3-M1 to MTF3-M9
