Wheels and Tires

Wheel Removal

Loosen wheel lug nuts. Then lift and
support vehicle.

Refer to

LIFTING

AND SUPPORTING VEHICLE

.

Remove wheel.

Wheel Installation

Inspect studs and nuts. Replace if
needed.

The tires are unidirectional and their ro-
tation must be kept in a specific direc-
tion for proper operation.

Tighten wheel lug nuts in accordance
with the following illustration.

TIGHTENING TORQUE

Wheel lug nuts

100 N•m ± 10 N•m

(74 lbf•ft ± 7 lbf•ft)

NOTICE

Always use the recom-

mended wheel nuts for the type of
wheel. Using a different nut could
cause damages to the rim or studs.

Tire Pressure

WARNING

Tire pressure greatly affects vehi-
cle handling and stability. Insuf-
ficient pressure may cause tire to
deflate and rotate on wheel. Over-
pressure may burst the tire. Al-
ways follow recommended pres-
sure. NEVER set tire pressure be-
low minimum. It could cause the
tire to dislodge from the rim.

Check pressure when tires are

cold

before using the vehicle. Tire pres-
sure changes with temperature and
altitude. Recheck pressure if one of
these conditions has changed.

SPECIFICATIONS

for proper

tire pressure.

NOTE:

Although the tires are specif-

ically designed for off-road use, a flat
may still occur. Therefore, it is rec-
ommended to carry a tire pump and a
repair kit.

Tire Inspection

Check tire for damage and wear. Re-
place if necessary.
