NOTE:
The gateway RF450/RF451/RF452 must be connected to a PakBus router. The PakBus router
may be software, such as LoggerNet or PC400, or a data logger configured as a router.

Selecting Gateway in the Radio Operation Mode designates the transceiver as a gateway. This
allows one gateway transceiver to simultaneously be in communications with numerous
endpoints and repeaters. A gateway communicates only with other transceivers designated as
endpoints, repeaters and endpoint/repeaters.

One setting, Low Power Mode, is not applicable to gateway radios, and thus is grayed out in

Device Configuration Utility

(see

Figure 8-1. Device Configuration Utility screen showing gateway settings

Radios configured as endpoints are allowed to communicate with a gateway (see

18]). The endpoint may communicate with its gateway directly, or through one or more repeaters.
