CAUTION!
When moving, switch off the tool, remove the battery pack and apply the bar cover. These behaviours prevent
accidental damage to objects and/or persons and/or damage to the product.
4.3
Packing and handling
The unit is packaged by the manufacturer and shipped to the dealer in a box.
CAUTION!
The handling of loads must be carried out in compliance with the current safety rules in the workplace. Keep
the box to store the tool for medium or long periods or to ship it packaged to an Authorised Assistance Centre
for any repairs.
5 TOOL USE
5.1 Intended use of the product
Before starting operations with the tool, wear protective clothing and check that all the safety and protection systems
are working and mounted properly.
•
Hold the tool tightly with both hands, the right on the control grip (10) and
the left on the grip (16) applied to the pole.
•
Get into a stable and safe position. Stand straight and keep the tool on the
right side of the body.
•
Start cutting only when the chain of the pruner has reached maximum
speed.
•
Do not apply pressure on the chain of the pruner while cutting, let it work.
To achieve the best cutting results, it is vital to make sure that the chain
speed does not decrease due to overloads.
•
Hold the device obliquely and do not exceed a 60° angle with respect to the
horizontal plane.
•
It is recommended to cut the lower branches first in order to facilitate the fall
of cut branches
CAUTION!
Never stop under a branch being cut and evaluate the falling space of the cut branches. The branches that fall to the
ground may bounce and cause injuries.
CAUTION!
Pay attention to the falling branch. Keep the work area clear, by removing fallen twigs and branches.
Before cutting the branches, determine the escape path and remove obstacles.
CAUTION!
•
Use the tool only for the purposes described in par. “Product description”. Any other use may cause injuries.
•
Only activate the tool when it is inserted between the branches. Improper use causes greater wear on the
tool and does not allow to save battery consumption.
5.1.1 Safety precautions to avoid kickbacks
A kickback is a sudden and quick upward and/or backwards movement of the pruner towards the operator, which may
take place:
- when the bar (2) touches a hard object on the upper part of the tip of the bar (see Fig. A).
- when wood clamps and presses the chain during cutting, along the upper part of the bar (see Fig. B).
When working with the lower part of the bar, the pruner is moved away from the operator. If the chain meets a hard
object and is stopped quickly, the pruner may be violently pushed away from the operator, potentially causing serious
injury (see Fig. C).
