The Azur 640H accesses music stored on any PC or Mac
when used with a wireless or wired network. Multiple Azur
640H music servers can be networked to allow content
from one to be seamlessly accessed by another. Wireless
capability allows simple creation of a multi-room hi-fi
system.
Tracks from internet music services can be downloaded
and content can be accessed from hard disk portables
using the front-mounted USB 2.0 input. Streaming is also
possible directly via the internet, for example playing one
of the thousands of net radio stations. When connected to
a broadband network, the 640H instantly retrieves artist,
album and track information using a web-based look-up
system.
Like the 640C, the 640H music server features a
Wolfson chip and filter for huge dynamic range, clarity and
low distortion. An audiophile toroidal oversize transformer
is used – most competitors in this category use a PC
power supply.
The 640H also features a full function bespoke remote
control with hot keys and alphanumeric keys to enable
alphabetical search – either by album, track or genre.
