Radio Capacity Specifications

Each table in this section includes ranges of capacity specifications according to frame size, with
ranges given for no Header De-Duplication, Layer-2 Header De-Duplication, and LTE-optimized
Header De-Duplication (per core).

Note
Ethernet capacity is the capacity for Layer 2 Ethernet frames from the start of the
Destination Address to the end of the Frame Check Sequence (FCS). The capacity does
not include the interfame gap and preamble present in the Ethernet physical layer.
Ethernet capacity for no Header De-Duplication is for 1518 byte Ethernet frames. The
capacity for smaller frames will be slightly less.
The capacity figures for Layer 2 Header De-Duplication assume compression of 14
header bytes. The lower figure is for 1518 byte frames and the higher figure is for 64
byte frames.
The capacity figures for LTE packets encapsulated inside GTP tunnels assume
compression of 76 header bytes including IPv4/UDP encapsulation and double VLAN
tagging (QinQ). Capacity for IPv6 encapsulation is higher. The lower figure is for 1518
byte frames and the higher figure is for 100 byte frames.
ACAP and ACCP represent compliance with different ETSI mask requirements. ACCP
represents compliance with more stringent interference requirements.
The total capacity (including Header De-Duplication) of a PTP 820S unit is double the
figures in the tables below. It should be noted that there are two PTP 820S models,
with a different limitation of the top capacity per terminal (unit). A PTP 820S model that
supports 80 MHz channels will support a total capacity of 1.3 Gbps (per terminal),
whereas other models support 1 Gbps.
