IDROMAT 4
SAFETY
Read these instructions carefully before installing or using the
device.
The assembler and final user must carefully comply with all applicable
standards and laws, including local regulations. The manufacturer
declines any liability in the event of damage due to improper use or use
under conditions other than those indicated on the serial plate and in
these instructions. The device has been built in conformity with the
current European Community laws.
OPERATION
The electronic controller IDROMAT 4 controls the automatic start and
stop of the water pump when opening or closing any tap or valve of the
installation. When the water pump starts, it keeps running while there is
any tap opened in the system, giving the required flow at constant
pressure to the network.

HYDRAULIC CONNECTION (fig.1)
Before proceeding with hydraulic connection make sure to
prime the pump correctly.
The IDROMAT 4 should always be installed in horizontal posi-
tion with the overmolded arrow pointing to the top, connecting the inlet
(G 1”male) directly to the pump outlet and the outlet (G 1”male) to the
network.
CAUTION
: Do not install non-return valves on the outlet of IDROMAT 4.
Do not install any tap between the pump and the device, it is advisable
to install a ball valve on the outlet of the device in order to isolate the
pump-IDROMAT 4 group from the network.
It is advisable to connect the device outlet to the system by using a
hose.
If the inlet pressure to IDROMAT 4 exceeds 10 bars, install a pressure
reducer between the pump and IDROMAT 4.
CAUTION
: The max water coloumn between the pump and the highest
point of the installation depends on the starting pressure. Herebelow,
there is a list with the height of the coloumn and the minimum pressure
the pump shall supply.

ELECTRIC CONNECTION (fig.2)
Check the power supply to be 230V ± 10%, remove the cover
1 of the electronic circuit and make the connection as per dia-
gram on plate 2.The IDROMAT 4 can be used with a single-
phase pump with electrical input greater than 16 A, or a three-phase
pump, by using an auxiliary remote control switch (230V coil). In this
case the electrical connections must be made as shown in the dia-
gram, fig.3.
WARNING
Bad connections may spoil the electronic circuit.
H07RN-F 3G1,5 type cables (Ø 9 ÷ 12 mm) must be used in order to
ensure IP65 protection.
STARTING
1. Be sure that the pump is correctly primed, then gently open
one tap.
2. Connect the IDROMAT 4 to the electric supply, the tension
LED will lit (POWER).
3. The pump starts working automatically and within a period
of 20-25 seconds the pressure gauge will reach approxima-
tely the maximum pressure provided by the pump. During
its working the corresponding LED (ON) will be on.
4. Close the tap indicated on point 1;after 10-12 seconds the
pump will stop. The voltage LED (POWER) will be the only
one to remain on. If the pump not start or does not read the
pressure, reset the system by pushing the button RESET.
Any problem after this procedure will be due to a defective
pump priming.
AUTOMATIC RESET FUNCTION
This system makes a series of automatic starting after the device is in
failure, searching to reset automatically the device without manual
intervention. This system works as follows:
The device is in failure due to lack of water, after 5 minutes in this
state, the system will do a RESET of 25 seconds, to try to prime the
pump. If the system achieves to prime the pump, the failure disappears
and the pump is ready to work. If the failure persists, the system will try
another RESET after 30 minutes. And it will be going on every 30
minutes for a period of 24h.
If after all these attempts, the failure persists, the system will keep in
failure until it is not be solved manually.
POSSIBLE PROBLEMS
The pump does not stop
a) Water leakage more than 1,5 l/min at some points of pipe, check the
installation, taps, WC, etc.
b) Manual start switch (RESET) is blocked: act on it several times, in
case the problem persists contact your dealer.
c) Breakdown on the electronic card: proceed with its replacement.
d) Incorrect electric connection: verify the connections according fig.2.
The pump does not start
a) Not enough water supply, the security system has been activated
and the LED (FAILURE) is on: check the water supply and reset the
pump through the reset switch (RESET).
b) Pump is blocked: LED (FAILURE) is on, the security system is acti-
vated. When you act on the manual start switch (RESET) the LED
(ON) is activated but the pump does not work: contact your dealer.
c) Failure in the electronic circuit: switch off the power supply, wait for
few seconds and turn it on again. If the pump does not start imme-
diately then replace the circuit.
d) No electrical supply: check the proper electric feeding. The voltage
LED (POWER) should be on.
e) Not enough pump pressure: the security system has been activated
and the corresponding LED (FAILURE) is on. Check that the pump
pressure is the one shown in the hydraulic connection table.
f) Air in the pump suction: the pressure gauge will indicate a pressure
lower than the nominal one or constant oscillations. The security
system will act by stopping the pump, the LED (FAILURE) will be on.
Check the sealing of the connections and O-ring of the suction pipe.
The pump starts and stops repeatedly
Small leakage in some point of the installation: verify possible tap or
WC tank leaks and repair them.
