VI. HYDRAULIC INSTALLATION

To achieve a good heater installation, verify the type of water feed system you have

at your home or the location where the water heater will be installed, as there are two

different types.

Open system

(with a water storage tank): To supply water to the heater, an air tube

must be installed at the cold-water inlet.

•

The air tube installation must not be omitted for the cold-water inlet, and we

recommend installing one for the hot water outlet also.

•

The air tube venting must be slightly higher than the upper level of the water

storage tank, by at least 20 cm

(see Figure 5).

•

Long segments of piping should be avoided and/or a lot of accessories such as:

elbows, T connections, bypass valves, etc. (The recommended distance between

the heater and the point of use should not exceed 5 m).

•

Check that the minimum flow of your shower is of 2,2 L/min.

•

Check that the minimum pressure of your installation is 0,2 kgf/cm

2

 (0.02 MPa)

(model 4 y 9,5 kW) and 0,25 kgf/cm

2

 (0,025 MPa) (model 12 kW).

IMPORTANT: in the open system, UNINSTALL the included relief valve, because it could

cause a loss of pressure in the line.

Closed or Pressurized System

(direct from the water network): Regarding the heater’s

water supply, we recommend installing a relief valve (NOT INCLUDED) at the hot water

outlet, calibrated at (0,68 MPa) (7 kgf/cm

2

) (100 lb/in

2

).

 (see Figure 6)

IMPORTANT: when there is excessive pressure, water exits through the relief valve. This

is a normal mechanism and does not mean the heater has a failure. Avoid undue

water spills by installing a drain tube at the relief valve exit towards the drainage.

Maximum operating pressure of 8,15 kgf/cm

2

 (0,8 MPa)

We recommend checking the relief valve (included) at least once a year, to make sure

it is in good working condition.
